「2006 The Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA)」は、ビジネスの促進に寄与すること、そして、優れたインダストリアル・デザインが私達の生活の質の向上と経済の発展にいかに重要であるかという認識を一般に広く普及させることを目的としたデザイン賞です。2006年度は108点が受賞しました。受賞者は数多くのメディアに取り上げられ、世界的に報道されます。主催はアメリカ国際デザイナーズ・ソサエティー（IDSA）とBusinessWeek誌。
