世界最大のデザイン・コンテストのひとつ「レッドドットデザイン賞」。レッドドットのマークは、卓越したデザインに対して品質保証をする印であり、このマークを認識票としてつけることが許された製品は、世界中で注目を浴びています。
「デザインは商品の売上を大きく左右する重要な要素である」という認識が定着するに従って、応募デザインの質もいっそう高くなっています。2008年は、過去最高の51の国と地域から3,203点の応募があり、そのうち676点が受賞、49点が最高賞の「red dot: best of the best」を受賞しています。授賞式は、6月23日にドイツのエッセンにて開催されました。
